The Latest Jokes, Especially for Seniors
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY: LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved
body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ...'holy
moly...what a ride!'"
SOMETHING FUNNY IN 2005?
Thinking back to 1987 the other day, we were trying to remember if we had a
computer, and we did: "What did we do with it? Did we have email? What did
we do with our free time? And how did we communicate with friends or buy
things?"
We guess there was an Internet back then, but how many of us would have
gotten a chuckle out of the following 17 years ago:
"Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a person to use the
Internet and he won't bother you for weeks..."
MOST KIDS TODAY WON'T GET THIS!
This was an actual pre-flight announcement recently heard from an Airline
cockpit.
"On our flight today, we will be flying at 34,000 feet. To give you an idea
of how high that is, we could easily fly over 50 Empire State buildings
stacked one on top the other.
"Our speed will be about 500 miles per hour. That is just over the velocity
of the standard .45 caliber pistol."
"We will be pushed along by two Pratt and Whitney jet engines. That gives us
a thrust greater than the combined force of 10 diesel locomotives.
"In other words, we're faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a
locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and as always,
your Dallas-based crew stands for truth, justice, and the AMERICAN way!"
Easy to guess the name of the airline, too, hey!
